This paper briefly introduces the service temperature range and the service life of the product.

Rubber and plastic foam insulation materials are made of rubber and plastic. Compared with rubber and plastics, plastics have a longer service life. Rubber is easy to age and has the shortest life. The service life here refers to the life that the product under normal environmental conditions, that is, the service life of the product is not in high temperature, high humidity, corrosive medium and strong environment such as strong oxidation and strong impact. According to the above definition, rubber and plastic materials can be used normally for more than 15 years.

If there is a small damage in the surface of the rubber and plastic material, as long as the area is not large, the damage is not penetrating, the impact on the overall insulation is not large, and does not affect the normal use. If it is too much, the local thickness will not be enough to cause condensation, need repairing.

The following describes the optimal operating temperature range for rubber and plastic insulation materials.

Firstly: when applied to steam systems with a temperature range above 95 °C, special production must be carried out;

Secondly, before using under deep freezing conditions below -20 °C, the test should be carried out firstly, and the thickness, installation size and shrinkage amount should be determined after the calculation of cold shrinkage and cold brittleness.

The working environment of rubber and plastic insulation materials is influenced by the medium temperature and the outside temperature. Generally speaking, if the two temperatures are too high or too low, or the temperature difference between them is too large, the material's size will change (mainly shrinkage). According to the requirements of GB/T17794, the rubber and plastic insulation materials work for 7 days at 105 °C ± 3 °C, and the dimensional change rate shall not exceed 10%.
